TOMIC # 33

I'm running a little behind from my crafting duties this week (and considering that it's a four day weekend..).. But I do have a good excuse :) It's Chinese New Year! And as we say here in Singapore - Gong Xi Fa Chai! Welcome to the year of the water dragon!
I spent this past few days rearranging and cleaning my room trying to get as much good feng shui as I can :)
And amidst all of the cleaning, I was able to finish a card in time to join TOMIC this week.
I have a couple of fabrics lying around my scrap stuff but never got to use them so this week's challenge was really good to use those materials.
Here's my simple card for this week.. Sorry for the poor photo quality, it has been raining the whole day and the sun was too shy to come out :(

Tilda in the Flower Fields
Materials: Magnolia Patterned Papers, Bazzill Cardstock, K&Co burlap, Kaiser Crafts rhinestones, Paper Roses, American Crafts embossing powders, lace, Distress Inks
Stamping: Magnolia Stamps, Memento Ink, Copic Markers, Copic Blending Paper

And here are some close-ups.. I love doing masking, don't you? :)

Thanks for visiting :)

Just Magnolia 139

Here's another card that I made during the weekend. My January is off to a good start, I've already made 4 cards (yay!) and it's only Sunday morning! But I do have to take a break for a while.. (actually only a couple of hours to buy cardstock and magnolia papers.. and milk:) )..
I know I had to join Just Magnolia this week because it is easy to follow a sketch right? Well sometimes my biggest challenge is how to start a card and a sketch just makes it a whole lot easier.
The sketch is a lot similar to my Pink card but there is a slight difference with the sketch. So here's my card:

Frog Prince
Materials: Basic Grey patterned papers, Bazzill Cardstock, Distress Ink, American Crafts brads, Staedler pens, Paper Roses
Stamping: Magnolia Stamps, Copic Markers, Copic Blending paper

And here are some simple close ups:

TOMIC number 32

Kumusta kayo (how are you) ?
I am card machine this weekend and more so a stamping and coloring maniac the whole entire week :) In the midst of coloring, I have found a new guilty pleasure.. The Bachelor .. Okay, I admit I am a reality TV junkie and nothing gets me fired up for crafting than sitting on the floor and watching good (and bad) TV. The Bachelor is really tacky and just wrong, but I love it! I guess I'm weird like that..
It's been quite a while since I joined TOMIC and as long as I can make a project that meets the challenge, I will :) So imagine my surprise that the challenge this week is about pink! I am not a pink person :( But having the Magnolia papers made it so much easier to make a pink card.
So here's my pink card:

Pink
Materials: Magnolia Patterned Papers, Bazzill Cardstock, American Crafts Embossing Powders, Kaiser Crafts Rhinestone, Provo Crafts brads, Stickles, Distress Inks, Staedler pens, Paper Roses
Stamping: Magnolia Stamps, Memento Ink, Copic Markers, Copic Blending Paper

And here are some simple close ups:

To date I am now a proud owner of 75 Magnolia stamps :) Every one of those stamps just makes me very happy! My dream is to complete all the stamps and be happy for the rest of my life!
I'd like to share two of the cards I did for Christmas. I wish I could have done more but December was quite hectic both work and home wise.
Here are my very simple cards:

.. 2012 ..

I will not even begin to say how disappointed I am to have not kept this blog up to date..
Who believes in resolutions? I make a lot of them every year and never stick to them (yep I am being honest about it). I have several this year starting with --- tadah! -- dieting! haha.. Okay, I know that this is a staple resolution on everybody who goes thru a new year but this the is one I am very serious about. In order not to pressure myself too much, I actually started my road to nutrition on January 5. I guess it's more of choices than actually depriving myself of what I want to eat. I have now become one of those people who actually read the labels and do the math when preparing my food! haha.. I am now on a strict 1200 calorie diet and walking/running a mile everyday. I have a log of all the food I consume including calorie count and calories burned during exercise. I am not expecting a huge weight improvement right away, I know it's gonna be gradual and I will be tempted. But I have to do it one step at a time. It's time for change :)
Another one of my resolutions is to focus a huge amount of my downtime (apart from running) with my papercrafts. I am hoping that this year will be a year that I can actually start to sell some of the papercrafts I have made. I also don't want to limit myself with just cards but also altered items and other mediums. I am doing this so that I can earn doing something I love and hopefully build a business out of it. With prayers and hard work I know I will be able to do it.
And of course.. blogging. I resolve to update this blog at least once a week so I can share my Magnolia love :) I also plan to join more challenges this year.
And just because my blog went to hibernation didn't mean that I wasn't playing, are you kidding me? I am doing this post at night but I will be posting some cards I have made once I am able to get some decent photos. Majority of the cards I made are actually Christmas cards (because the Sweet Christmas Dreams were amazing :) ). And - ohmyword! - Sweet Crazy Love! - I will be reducing my calorie intake by 500/day in order to get my hands in all of them!
See you in a few :)
