Tag .. You're it!

Hey everybody!
I've been MIA for a couple of weeks now as I was wrapping up some assigments for Magnolia Ink. It was my first time to send in projects for the Ink and I guess I was overthinking and overworking and overshooting a lot .. :) .. In a couple of days I will again start working on the Ink, I'm just waiting for the materials to come and I am excited to get working on it.
Have you guys grabbed a copy of the new Magnolia Ink magazine by the way? Raise your hands if you think this issue is the bomb! :) .. It's an awesome issue and it's full of wonderful and creative ideas and projects that will inspire you to create. And with the release of the magazine, the new collection Summer Memories is out as well. Can you handle this much Magnolia or are you like me who just can't have enough of them? :)
I'd like to share a tag with you guys that I made 2 days ago to get into my regular programming of crafting. This image is actually something I colored a few weeks ago and saved it for any project that pops in my mind.

I should stay away from you...

.. but I couldn't resist .. :) ..
Okay, what I meant was I need to focus first on Magnolia Ink assignments before I start inking the really cute stamps from the Spring kit club. But they were calling me and I just couldn't say no :( ..
I am really looking forward to seeing the whole collection which is focused on summer folies.. the beach, sailor suits, treading in the water, flowers and bees :) .. I love summer :) I wish I could go to the beach and get really tanned (which is pretty easy for someone like me), walk on sand, eat barbequed food and snow ice. Being in this part of the world (south east Asia), we only know two seasons which is summer and rain. And in Singapore we get to experience that everyday..
I'd like to share a card with all of you using a stamp from the Spring kit club. I love this stamp :) Edwin reminds me of my nephews who like to hunt for sea creatures when we are at the beach.

Materials: Patterned Papers: Basic Grey; Cardstock: Bazzill; Sheer Flowers: Maya Road; Rhinestones: Me and my Big Ideas and Kaiser Crafts; Misc Flowers, stamen and twine; American Crafts Pen; Paper Doily
Stamps: Magnolia Stamps from the 2012 Spring Stamp Club and Wedding Collection; Archival Ink; Distress Ink; Schut cold press Aquarelle paper; Misc Flourish stamp; Versamark Ink; American Crafts embossing powder
Tools: polka dot embossing folder from Cuttlebug

I've now started using cold press paper for Distress Ink coloring, I'm still getting used to it and I'm sure there's still room (ok, maybe a whole floor :)..) for improvement. I couldn't stay away from using bright and colorful hues, that's just me :) I feel like soft colors are really not me, but the beauty of the Magnolia stamps is they are really perfect for any coloring mediums and colors that will suit your preference. For the sentiment, I actually wrote it and embossed with powder.
That's it for me today, I hope you guys have a great week ahead!

Still experimenting...

Hi everybody!
I've stuffed myself full with chocolates and marshmallow rabbits to the max and I know serious walking and sweating is in the midst to burn all those calories off :) But hey it's easter so that's a good excuse to fill our stomachs with sweets :)
I'd like to share a card with all off you, it's not really stellar but I thought it would be really good to share this experimenting journey. I am still trying to master my hand in using distress inks and this is one of the cards I did. I was looking for hot pressed watercolor paper, a couple of the DT girls use this paper because of the smooth surface, but it costs a fortune :( luckily I was able to find a small artshop here in Singapore that sells 'em :) I did buy the cheapest among the lot since I am still on the learning curve. The cold press paper is also good because of the textured effect and I also like this effect on this image. At the moment I have three papers I am using, I like to keep them handy because sometimes my mood changes :) So I have the Daler Rowley Aquafine Coldpress 300gsm, Canson Watercolour Pad 200gsm and Schut Aquarellebloc Hot Pressed 300gsm.
On this card, I used the Daler Rowley Aquafine Coldpress 300gsm paper. It's still quite messy but like my previous card, I kinda like it :) What I did to make it a bit messy is to outline the image with Weathered Wood. The few images I did also with Distress Inks I have not lined and it looks really good too :) I will share some soon but in the meantime here's my card :)

Materials: Patterned Papers: My Mind's Eye; Cardstock: Bazzill; Brads: Basic Grey; Flowers: Prima and I am Roses; Misc Ribbon and Twine
Stamping: Magnolia Stamps Tilda with Butterfly Dress from the Butterfly Dreams Collection; Archival Ink, Distress Inks, Autumn Leaves Stamps

.. still a bit messy but it's okay :) ...

Thanks for looking and have a great week ahead :)

Who's up for some easter lovin'?

Happy Easter everybody :)
We thank the Lord for giving us his only Son and we rejoice that Jesus Christ has risen!
It's been a tiring weekend for me since I went home to Manila. Although Singapore is only 3hr 40min away by plane to the Philippines, I wasn't able to sleep coz I was so excited to see my family :) But as I had to do a little work first before going home to my "real" bed, I was absolutely spent.. But seeing my mom and dad, my brother and sister in law, 3 rambunctious nephews and our dogs made the travel all worth it :)
Before going home I was able to finish my DT card for TOMIC # 44. The theme for this week is Somebunny Loves You :) This is my first DT card ever - as in ever! :) And I am so happy to be able to share it with all of you :)  I've again colored my Tilda with Distress Inks. I absolutely adore this Tilda which is from the Hoppy Easter collection. I did some masking with Tilda and the bench. Masking is fun :)  My bunny in this card is the very subtle cute bunnies in the Magnolia patterned paper. I decided to make yellow the dominant color instead of the blue (which was the dominant color in the inspiration picture) because yellow is such a happy color :)
Here's my card..
